New water park

A lot of people that grew up around here talk about the ol' Cermak Pool, which apparently was located in the forest preserve on Ogden Ave in Lyons-ish. I never heard of it, had never been. It's been closed for a long while, I hear.

There's been some buzz that they were going to reopen it as a water park geared for kids under 12. And the rumor is true!

According to the Forest Preserve of Cook County web site, the Cermak Family Aquatic Center. It opens on July 24th at 2pm, and admission is going to be free for summer of 2008!


I dare say I'll give it a whirl. Specifically geared for younger kids, really close to home, and free all summer? I'm in for sure!
